What a Crowd...

This song resurfaced this past weekend. I was with some close friends, including my sisters. It was one of those songs that dad played a lot...on those nights when the family sat down to chowder and biscuits...(maine)...it's dated but it will never get old. It's good to watch it with friends. Otherwise you might start crying and feel like a real cheesball and ruin the song for yourself.

feeling tired and parched
isn't so bad after you've been to the front of the stage
looking up into the lights.

That single shadow made moonshapes
and curls sent them darting like shooting stars,
too many to see each and every one
and you let it all mix together,
you felt your insides groan as they awakened
to the sound of a creature

they created a creature
and you witnessed it
and you laid in bed at night
and remembered the flashing fingers
and pairs of knees bending together
as their chests sucked it in and blew it back out into the crowd

all you need now is water and coffee
